Couple’s Breast Exam
Step-By-Step Guide
- Ask your partner to lie on her back, on a flat surface such as the bed, with her left arm under her head.
- Position a small pillow or rolled up towel under her left shoulder so that her left breast is flat.
- Using the tips of your fingers, and beginning at the center of her breast, move outward with circular motions.
- Imagine the breast is divided into vertical sections, and move in an up and down pattern, covering the left side of the breast and surrounding area.
- Varying the touch from soft to medium, feel around for any masses, lumps, or unusual swellings.
- Be sure to cover the entire breast, as well as the underarm, and the area above her breast to her collarbone and shoulder.
- Repeat on the right side.
- Perform this loving exam monthly or as often as you desire!
Additional Suggestions:
- Coconut oil or other massage oil will likely make the experience easier and more enjoyable.
- Although most lumps are not cancerous, be sure to report any suspect finding to your doctor immediately.
- Kisses and caresses before, during and after the exam are highly recommended!
